Industry Institution Interaction

Shri Vaishnav Polytechnic, Indore was established in the year 1962. Looking towards the fast growth requirements and need of the Industries, a Irainingand and Placement Officer post. was sanctioned in the year 1975. Shri G. Gurytnurthy was appointed as the first Training & Placement Officer in the institute. Prior to joining he was working as Principal of the Polytechnic at Harda (M.P.) In the year 1983 the post was advertised and Shri Shyam Joshi was-selected as Training & Placement Officer. Prior to joining on, the post, he had 18 years of experience with reputed Industries in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh even on senior positions like General Manager, Project Manager, Works Manager etc. The area of Industry - Institution - Interaction is a TEAM-WORK. All Heads of the Department or their nominees are evolved in this creative activity. The output of team work has resulted in effective and high percentage employment of pass outs, involvement of industries in institute's academic improvement and development of knowledge, skill and attitude of students in the institute.
Indore is the commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh. Large number of small and medium scale industries were established at Government developed Industrial Area. First at Polo ground and then at Fort-industrial area and Sanwer Road Industrial Area. The positive growth has resulted in development of sector wise small-industrial area at Nanda Nagar, Naulakha, Rao etc. The city has developed various. service-sector openings at Kibe compound, Daulatganj, Malharganj etc.
Now Indore is prominently located on Industrial Map of the Country. In an orbit of 40 k.m. large industrial area of Dewas and Pithampur exists. Many a leading houses have their industrial set-up at Dewas, Indore and Pithampur. Shri Vaishnav Polytechnic is privileged by catering the needs of middle level management technical personnel to these Industries. Industries from other part of the country also select Diploma Holders from this Institute.
The activity of Industry - Institute Interaction of this Polytechnic enjoy the leading status in the State. This Polytechnic is even assisting other Polytechnics, Govt. Departments and faculty of other states in meeting their objectives for the work related with industries.
Some of the key activities organized in the institute for the benefit of Industries :

	"Precitex - Trophy" for the best student in Textile Department since 1988.
	Participated in ZOPP workshop at Bhopal with German experts for implementation of Production Engineering & Electronics Program -1989.
	Participated in ZOPP workshop at New Delhi with German Experts for establishment of INDO- GERMAN TOOL ROOM at Indore-1990.
	Employment Selection and initial training of the TRADESMEN' like fitter, turner, machinist, draftsmen etc. Hindustan Motors Ltd., Bajaj Tempo Ltd., Kinetic Honda Motors Ltd., Eicher Motors Ltd., Kores Engineering, Larson & Tubro Ltd. at Pithampur 1990 to 1992.
	Job description survey of Mechanical Electrical and Electrical Engg. Diploma pass outs in Indore region with Getman Team year -1991.
	6 Weeks Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) sponsored by M.P. Council of Science and Technology for 26 unemployed yonder of the city in the year 1992.
	Receipt of a Gift in the form of "Big Circular Weaving machine from Mara) Overseas Ltd., Nimrania for Textile Department year -1992".
	Seminar on Industrial relations in collaboration union 'Confederation of Indian industry (Cll)' in the year 1992
	Training of "Soldering Craclice" for the 25 employees of M/s. Crompton Graves Ltd., Pithammmpur year 1994.
	Training on concept of NC/CNC machines for the 25 employees in M/S. Gajra Gears Ltd., Dewas year 1994.
	5 day workshop on "How to increase employability of Civil Engineering Diploma pass outs conducted in the year 1995
	Industrial Training of different Polytechnics supporting staff in Indore - 15 Nos. in 1995.(From 14.08.95 to 09.09.95 - 4 week)
